Japan's Food Pyramid
The base of the pyramid is made of Grains such as rice, bread, noodles and pasta. The recommendation is to eat 5 to 7 servings of these types of grains each day. The next most important food on the pyramid is what we all know to be important and that’s vegetables. The recommendation from the Japanese Food Pyramid is that individuals consume between 5 and 6 servings of vegetable dishes every day. Next in line is Meats and Fish at 3 to 5 servings. You will notice that eggs are considered a part of this group. Next is Milk and Fruits. The pyramid recommends that the diet include 2 servings of milk and 2 servings of fruit. Without a doubt this food pyramid is different than that of other countries. Overall you will notice how this food pyramid correlates strongly with a traditional Japanese meal at dinner time. We encourage you to go ahead and give this food pyramid a shot. It can provide nothing but benefits in terms of health. Oh one last thing from the pyramid, you can enjoy snacks and beverages moderately. Its all about having a balance lifestyle!

The Jungle Cat Chicken Yakisoba.
On March 18th, I stopped by The Jungle Cat Café that was located 2 buildings before the corner on Main Street for dinner. It was around 6:00pm, and I had hoped I'd missed the dinner crowd. I wasn't expecting a line when I got there because it was early. The line at the dinner counter was about 15 people deep when I walked up and another eight people were waiting to pay at the register, and there was only one person working in each spot. I had heard the place could get busy, but this was ridiculous… Finally, I ordered a …… The Jungle Cat Chicken Yakisoba When I sat down to eat the Chicken Yakisoba, I had a feeling the noodles would be overcooked from what I heard from other friends who ate there. But they were the softest noodles I ever ate. I really thought I would taste the cabbage more when I took my first bite. It was a whole new taste that you can’t really explain other than it was really delicious. Overall, my experience with The Jungle Cat Café was positive. The meal I had was very delicious. I am so glad I went there to try the Chicken Yakisoba. Within minutes of eating my meal, I was glad I tried it. There could have been a little less onion. I will most likely eat the Chicken Yakisoba again since it was one of my favorite things, but I will try other things on the menu. If anyone has any questions about The Jungle Cat Chicken Yakisoba or the restaurant, leave a comment to my review and I'll get back to you. |
